Spiaggia di Anginarra is the northernmost of the two twins main beaches of Acquafredda, little and beautiful town of Maratea.

It is a beautiful beach of sand, gravel and dark pebbles, set between the high and characteristic cliffs of Acquafredda and the beach named Spiaggia della Luppa.

Spiaggia di Renicedda is the historical beach of Cersuta's families. Cersuta is a little and beautiful village of Maratea which overlooks the Sea, sited between Acquafredda and Fiumicello.

Renicedda is a small beach set in the rock, around which the lush vegetation plunges directly into the blue sea.

Unfortunately it is not possible to rent umbrellas and sunbeds.

Public parking and other amenities are absent too.

When we are talking about Rena 'u Nastru, we are going to intend one of the most beautiful Italian beaches; Indeed, 'u Nastru was awarded, in the 2015, by LegaAmbiente, as second most beautiful beach in the contest "You are the most beautiful".

The beach of Fiumicello is probably the most comfortable of the Maratea's coast.

Chosen by young people as well as by families, Fiumicello beach is one of the longest beaches of the coast.

The Lido l'Approdo Fiumicello, offers services for disabled and elderly people too. Locally, one can rent sunbeds and umbrellas. At the kiosk, it is also possible to eat some snack as frisella's and other good fresh dishes. The beach is served by a huge underground parking and other amenities.

Centammari, located on the bay where overlooks the famous Luxury Hotel Santavenere, is one of the little coves preferred by private boats of vacationeers of Maratea, even if it is the most close to the touristic Port.

Spiaggia Cala Tunnara (or, at least, what remains nowaday of it) is the most beloved by inhabitants of the village of Porto di Maratea.

The beach is anyway accessible walking through an easy path, starting from the touristic harbour.

La Darsena is another beach, which is accessible walking through an easy path, starting from the Porto of Maratea.

The natural cove was used as shelter dock for small local boats, at least until 60s.

Nowadays it is about totally filled of pebble and furthermore, during the 70s, the touristic harbour was completed.

The beach is served by the near parkings located next to the Port but, unfortunately, it is not possible to rent umbrellas and sunbeds.

Spiaggia del Porto is listed in this essential catalogue just for historical reasons. Since the touristic harbour was build in the 60s and 70s, indeed, it is not possible anymore to take any sea bath, due to the constraints of the Port Authorities.

in the past, however, there was a very large sandy beach, including what remains today of the small beach of the port and much of the square on which the modern bars and restaurants overlook.

The Spiaggia del Crivo too was totally swallowed up into the modern infrastructure of the touristic harbour of Maratea but, in past, it was another beautiful beach really loved by the local inhabitants. Since the touristic harbour was build in the 60s and 70s, indeed, it is not possible anymore to take any sea bath, due to the constraints of the Port Authorities.

Did You know that Maratea was, in the past, seat of a Royal Custom, at least since 1531?

The ancient Custom (in Italian, Dogana and then Fondaco -> Funnicu) was located where still nowadays it remains the little beach of Funnicu Reggio (Royal Custom), in the village of Filocaio.

This beautiful beach cannot be reached in any other way than from the sea and it were awarded as FIRST most beautiful Italian beach by LegaAmbiente in the 2016.

You cannot leave Maratea without visiting i Vranne.

The real name of the Spiaggia Nera (Black Beach) is Cala Jannita. Immediately next to the awarded i Vranne, there is Cala Jannita, loved by young people of Maratea.

It is a pebbled dark beach accessible through some not easily walking path.

The real name of this beach should be i Licini (after "licini", holly oak or quercus-ilex).

Cala Vecchia was also well known as "Spiaggia di Santo Janni".

Nowadays this little pebbled beach is reachable from the sea only.

Cala Grande is also said Cala di Don Nicola even if is better known as Macarro.

It is a lovely beach, in front of the little isle of Santo Janni and the rocky reef of La Giumenta.

It is beloved by young people as well as by families and one can find there  some bathhouses. 

The beach is not easily reachable walking and it is served by a private parking.

In a little cove there are, in sequence, three distinguished rocky beaches: the first one is the Spiaggia dei Sette Ponti (seven bridges). The original and actual name should be Ricculina.

The access is quite impervious or difficult from the sea as well as walking, even if once reached, all the three beaches are able to homage your efforts with one of most superb sunset that it is possible to perceive from Maratea.

The Abissu is a very small beach located in Marina di Maratea and it is reachable from the sea only, with some difficulty.

Sp. 'mpedi 'u Citru

The latest small beach of Cala del Citro is the one named 'Mpedi 'u Citro. Citro should means Citrus, after the citrus or wild orange tree.

The beach 'Mpedi 'u Citro is anyway the most comfortably reachable of the three present into the cove of Citro, even if the walk is not exactly easy.

One can park in the private parking of the "Cala del Citro - Signature Restaurant" and why not, reserve an excellent dinner for appreciate to the max the unique sunset!

The beach of Calaficarra is the first of the two main beaches of Marina di Maratea, a little village which is next to the last and southernmost village named Castrocucco.

It is a small beach respect to the largest one named Santa Teresa but it is in the same way beautiful and well served.

A little village of fisherman is directly overlooking the small cove od the Porticeddu beach.

It is a pebbly mixed to stone bay and is partially closed by a black rock called the mushroom.

In the northernmost cove of the Càina Tower, one can find the beach named Valle d'Acqua, where the green of the vegetation and the blue of the sea are able to melt in one like quite in no else location.

La Secca is an incredible little quite and calm paradise immersed in a private natural park.

The least but not the last beach of Maratea is the largest: the Spiaggia d'a Gnola.

Located in Castrocucco, it signs the southernmost border with the Calabria region, marked by the river Noce.

The Gnola is the unique real sandy beach of Maratea and it is appreciated by local vacationeers as well as the numerous tourists which populate, in the summer season, the big camping of Castrocucco.
